Founded Enviance in October 1999 with more than 15 years experience in law. Partner with Irell & Manella LLC in Los Angeles.
Larry founded Enviance in 1999 to drive a sea change in the quality of compliance management by leveraging the revolutionary power of the Internet. As President and CEO, Larry is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company.
Prior to founding Enviance in October 1999, Larry was a member of the Los Angeles law firm of Irell & Manella, a commercial firm of more than 150 lawyers, where he was a partner and served on the firm’s management committee. Larry specialized in the representation of technology companies and others in complex commercial litigation, including intellectual property litigation. During his 15 year tenure, Larry clients included the H.J. Heinz Company and Speaker of the California Assembly. Prior to beginning the practice of law, Larry served as a law clerk to The Honorable Richard P. Matsch, U.S. District Court Judge.
Larry holds a bachelors degree from Duke University and a law degree from the University of Virginia.
Larry has published regularly on the trends in the software as a service arena, and has lectured at Duke University on performance-based compliance organizations. Larry has also spoken at many investor, technology and environmental, health and safety conferences.

Simon Blackburn, VP, Sales |
With 20 years of software and consulting sales experience at NetIQ, Oracle and Andersen Consulting.
At Enviance, Simon is responsible for all aspects sales and sales operations, and is focused on ensuring successful customer adoption of the Enviance System.
Prior to Enviance, Simon was regional vice president of sales for NetIQ, a leading provider of systems, security and compliance management software to the Fortune 1000, where he managed all sales functions for the West and Central US regions. He participated in numerous acquisitions and divestitures at NetIQ and was responsible for implementing sales processes that are now adopted globally at NetIQ.
Before NetIQ, Simon was responsible for sales at Oracle's insurance consulting practice in the UK, and held numerous sales and sales management positions at Intersolv, a provider of application development software. Simon started his career at Andersen Consulting in London, where he served as a manager in the financial services division, before moving into software products division.
Simon received a bachelors’ degree in mechanical engineering from Loughborough University.

Sergey Blyashov, Chief Technology Officer |
Over 15 years experience at companies like Stellcom and WROX Press.
As Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Sergey Blyashov brings more than 15 years of experience in technology management and product development and is responsible for managing the Enviance System and the company’s ‘Rapid Product Development’ process. Ultimately, it is Sergey and his team who ensure that Enviance continues to enhance and maintain a solid, scalable product, networking, and technology architecture.
Sergey held a number of technical management, architect designer, and developer positions for enterprise level integration projects in the insurance, medical, and automotive industries before joining Enviance in 2001. Besides being a technical reviewer for Wrox Inc.’s Windows 2000 DNA architecture book, Sergey holds a patent in the area of business intelligence reporting tool design.
Sergey is a Microsoft Certified Software Developer (MCSD) and holds a CS masters degree from Rostov Technical Institute in computer science.

Neil Gafney, VP, Federal & Military Programs |
Over 32 years military experience, including military environmental compliance.
As the Vice President of Federal & Military Programs at Enviance since 2005, Neil Gafney leads the account and project management discipline across all federal agencies and DOD entities. He has more than 32 years of military experience as a commissioned officer with the Army Corps of Engineers, in both Active Duty and Reserve capacities, and recently retired as a Colonel while on his last assignment working for the Chief of Engineers in Washington, DC.
For the past 14 years Neil has helped to develop, deploy, train, and deliver an environmental focus to the US Army Reserve, as a Team Leader, Director, and Chief of Staff for the US Army Facilities Engineer Group. This involved the rollout and implementation of the Army’s Construction Engineer Research Lab Environmental Compliance and Assessment System (ECAS) to all 1600+ reserve facilities in the United States.
Neil holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Masters of Industrial Management from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn.

Greg Gasperecz, VP, Environmental, Health & Safety |
With 23 years experience at the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and his own consultancy.
Greg Gasperecz has an extensive technical background in the environmental industry specifically in air quality management. With the combination of regulatory and compliance consulting experience, Greg understands the issues facing compliance specialists - developing appropriate solutions that efficiently and cost-effectively solve the challenges faced by those in the compliance arena. Greg has a central role in product management and in consulting with Enviance customers to build and implement solutions that map to organizations’ needs.
Prior to joining Enviance in 2000, Greg ran his own consulting business where he provided regulatory compliance, remedial investigation, and permit acquisition guidance to companies in the process, steel, utility, and fabrication industries.
Greg began his career with the EPA developing information upon which emission standards such as NSPS and NESHAP are based. He then joined the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality where he served in various capacities, ultimately being promoted to Assistant Secretary for the Office of Air Quality.
Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a Masters of Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Michele B. Hincks, VP, Marketing and Customer Support |
15 years experience at ChemConnect, Lucent Technologies, AT&T.
Michele Hincks joined Enviance with more than 15 years of marketing experience in business-to-business e-commerce, telecommunications services, and software. At Enviance, Michele leads a team charged with developing and implementing all of Enviance’s marketing and communications activities, providing customer service, offering training and other learning solutions, and managing Envision, the Enviance user group and conference, which she and her team established.
Before Enviance in 2003, Michele was Vice President, Marketing at ChemConnect, the leading business-to-business online marketplace for chemicals and plastics, where she was instrumental in developing and implementing ChemConnect's branding strategy and overall positioning through an integrated marketing program across all communications vehicles. Prior to joining ChemConnect, Michele held various senior business and consumer marketing positions with Lucent Technologies and AT&T where she successfully launched products such as Lucent’s www.messenger™and AT&T Direct® Ocean Service.
Michele received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Douglass College and an M.B.A. in marketing from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.

David McCurdy, EVP, Sales and Operations |
16 years sales and sales management experience at DuPont.
Dave McCurdy brings 16 years experience in a variety of leadership positions in sales, marketing, and operations. As EVP, Sales and Operations, Dave and his team are responsible for overseeing operations, enhancing and expanding customer use of Enviance, for managing all aspects of the Enviance alliance program.
In 2000, Dave joined Enviance from DuPont where he directed North American marketing efforts for the Corian business unit, its highest growth business unit. Dave’s expertise lies in business-to-business sales, product strategy, and branding. Dave was also involved in development of new e-business models for DuPont and leading discussions with Internet companies in DuPont markets.
Dave received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Delaware.

Jeff Pownell, CPA, Chief Financial Officer |
Over 15 years financial management experience at Freedom Scientific, National Decision Systems, Equifax, Ernst & Young, KPMG Peat Marwick.
Jeff Pownell joined Enviance in 2003 with considerable expertise in strategic and operational financial management of technology companies. With more than 15 years of experience, Jeff is responsible for all financial and accounting matters at Enviance.
Prior to Enviance, Jeff was CFO at Freedom Scientific, the world’s leading developer, manufacturer, and supplier of assistive technology products to the blind. He has experience raising equity from venture capital investors, negotiating debt financing with international banking groups, and managing the financial affairs of multi-facility and international operations. Jeff managed the acquisition and integration of several privately-held software companies and held senior management positions in the technology divisions at Ernst & Young and KPMG Peat Marwick where he assisted several venture-backed companies in going public. His time at Equifax provided him with detailed knowledge of accounting and reporting issues important to publicly-traded companies.
Jeff is a CPA and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from West Texas State University.
