DIXON ENVIRONMENTAL INTRODUCES INNOVATIVE COMPLIANCE SOLUTION WITH ENVIANCE

Leading environmental and engineering firm launches value-added MONITOR™ service to help its clients automate and streamline air quality regulatory compliance and reporting; Cytec Industries among early users of on demand system

CARLSBAD, CA and FRAZER, PA - May 25, 2005- Enviance, the leading provider of Internet-based, on demand systems for the management of environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities, and Dixon Environmental, a premier provider of environmental services to the chemical, refining, pharmaceutical, and other industries, today announced that Dixon has launched its new MONITOR™ compliance management solution, powered by the Enviance.

By making use of the highly configurable and flexible features of the Enviance System, MONITOR™, developed by Dixon Environmental, provides a new and innovative approach to planning, organizing, evaluating, and managing environmental compliance programs and information. MONITOR™ enables Dixon's clients to intelligently assess and mitigate the impact of the existing and impending regulations on their operations. MONITOR™ also helps those companies preserve institutional knowledge and streamline future monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting. The solution includes the following value-added features:

  • Automated rule applicability determinations
  • Data quality analysis to facilitate resource allocation decisions
  • History and version tracking
  • Automated data export
  • Streamlined reporting
  • Task management

Dixon Environmental has achieved a national reputation for its expertise in Maximum Achievable Control Technologies (MACT) and the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) standards. As a result, Dixon Environmental was contracted by the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA) to provide technical assistance and facilitate discussions with EPA throughout the development and promulgation of 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart FFFF, the Miscellaneous Organic National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants — frequently referred to as "the MON rule" — and to inform and empower SOCMA's members via Dixon Environmental's MON Resource Center™. This experience, coupled with its new Enviance-powered MONITOR™ solution which leverages the value-added content of the MON Resource Center™, uniquely positions Dixon to help its clients plan for and achieve MON compliance.

Cytec Industries (NYSE: CYT), a specialty chemicals and materials technology company, is an early user of MONITOR™ and expects it will save time, money and help achieve and certify compliance with confidence.

"These compliance processes are traditionally very time consuming and cumbersome," said David Cuppett, Safety Health and Environmental Manager for Cytec's Willow Island, WV plant. "Automating paper-based processes and having this information centrally and readily available in a database — as opposed to in a filing cabinet or, worse, in someone's head — will have benefits far beyond the immediate solution itself."

"With our Enviance-powered solution, we're taking binders full of paper out of the compliance equation," said Michael Dixon, President, Dixon Environmental. "We believe that streamlining these processes puts our customers at the forefront of MON compliance and ahead of the game as mandatory compliance looms. More than this, we believe that delivering this web-enabled service contributes to long-term return on investment and supports our long-standing commitment to stress-free compliance."

"Dixon Environmental has a well-earned reputation for offering its clients a broad range of industry experience, regulatory expertise, and the key relationships necessary to assure cost-effective compliance strategies," said Lawrence Goldenhersh, President and CEO of Enviance. "Dixon's decision to build their value-added on-demand MON solution using the Enviance System as its information technology platform is tremendous validation of the value Enviance provides the environmental engineering and consulting community. We are pleased to welcome Dixon-and their leading clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical, refining and industrial manufacturing industries-to the fold."
