ENVIANCE AND BNA LAUNCH INTEGRATED ON DEMAND ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY CONTENT SERVICE

Delivering the right content, at the right time, to the right people is key to assuring compliance, managing risk

CARLSBAD, CA and WASHINGTON, D.C. - September 14, 2004 - Enviance, Inc., the leading provider of Internet-based, on demand systems for the management of environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities, and BNA, Inc., the leading U.S content provider of EHS information, today announced their partnership and roll out of an Internet-based service for the delivery of timely and targeted EHS compliance and regulatory content.

In order to ensure that compliance activities meet regulatory requirements, organizations must track the rulings and regulations issued by multiple local, state, and federal agencies. However, the relevant information is dynamic and maintained in disparate "silos" that are difficult and expensive to track and coordinate. Title V compliance, alone, requires adherence to an interdependent web of hundreds of regulatory requirements and obligations that are applicable to hundreds of emission sources.

The new Enviance-BNA service will make the process easier by consolidating the relevant regulations into one place, connecting them to the appropriate compliance activities, and automating the processes, including alerts and notifications, when a modification in one of the "silos" triggers the need to make a change in a related business practice.

BNA's EHS Division has more than 200 reporters and editorial experts who provide users with news, updates, analysis and answers to their EHS questions. Through this strategic partnership, users of Enviance's compliance management system are now able to link directly to citations and request updates when regulations change using a new BNA web tool called Cite-ItŮ. Users will then receive email notifications of regulatory changes and updates. The integrated solution ensures that the right content is available to the right people when they need it, resulting in time savings, increased efficiency and enhanced confidence in their compliance assurance efforts.

"Enviance and BNA are leading the way in combining on demand, accurate information services with a powerful system that allows users to quickly act on that information," said Audrey Hipkins, Executive Editor at BNA. "This is key to helping organizations manage the complexity associated with assuring EHS compliance on a daily basis."

"Through this partnership, BNA's network of editors, analysts and correspondents are the eyes and ears for Enviance customers at every level - in government, in the courts, and around the world - keeping them ahead of regulatory changes," said Lawrence Goldenhersh, President and CEO, Enviance. "By allowing the user to couple the dynamic regulations and regulatory updates with the compliance activities dictated by the regulations, Enviance continues to drive innovation in the compliance management arena."
