National Cooperative Refinery Association (NCRA) is an inter-regional cooperative engaged in crude oil acquisition, transportation, refining and product distribution. Products from NCRA’s 85,000 barrel-per-day refinery are purchased by the Members-Owner cooperatives and distributed to their affiliated local farm supply cooperatives throughout the North Central United States. NCRA had been using the Enviance System for its Air Emissions Inventory reporting. When the need arose to manage its GHG program electronically, it made sense to tie it in with the Air Emissions Inventory.
“The GHG management functionality didn’t require a separate component, so we were able to seamlessly continue using Enviance,” said Wanda Sponsel, EHS Data Specialist for NCRA.
The Enviance System enables companies such as NCRA to flexibly implement various programs with minimal IT support. In addition, the cooperative knew that the responsive, knowledgeable staff and technical support team at Enviance would be available to assist with any questions.
NCRA uses the Enviance System for the data management, task management and reporting of its Air, Groundwater, Water, Waste and Underground Storage environmental programs.
The cooperative produces reports from the System including Air, Groundwater, Water, Waste and Underground Storage environmental programs. The cooperative produces reports from the System including Air Emissions Inventory, TRI, GHG and state reports, such as injection well and DMR.
By managing compliance deadlines and reporting requirements in Enviance, NCRA benefits from reduced environmental liability that comes from maintaining a consolidated management system for all compliance objects. In addition, the centralized data and task management makes personnel changes and transitions easier. Enviance is used by four departments comprising 28 users at NCRA.
