A new year brings with it a mountain of potential. As we consider the possibilities for 2018, EHS trade shows and conferences represent unique opportunities to make direct connections within the environmental, health, safety, and sustainability industries. While in-person events are just one piece of any corporate growth strategy, there’s just something to be said about having a real, face-to-face conversations with other EHS professionals. Here are some 2018 EHS conferences to consider:

GreenBiz 18
February 6-8, 2018 | Phoenix, AZ

One of the most diverse conferences on our list, GreenBiz 18 caters to professionals focused on sustainability in any industry, from fashion and food to PR and transportation. The event is framed by the GreenBiz Group’s annual State of Green Business report and is expected to host 160 speakers from some of the world’s largest companies, including Dow, Walmart, Microsoft, General Motors, Disney, and more. There are seven tracks addressing the latest sustainability trends and strategies related to supply chain, energy efficiency, corporate social responsibility, and climate resiliency. Attendees can also take advantage of other interactive experiences, like one-on-one professional coaching, morning yoga, and an educational biomimicry hike.


NAEM EHS & Sustainability Software Conference
March 6-7, 2018 | St. Petersburg, FL

NAEM’s annual Software and Data Management Conference is aimed at corporate EHS and sustainability leaders who are searching for solutions to dynamic EHS challenges. Users and buyers will have the opportunity to meet directly with EHS software providers, as well as learn how to better leverage technology to create business value. Expect an engaged group of over 250 in-house EHS professionals, as well as more than 20 leading software companies and service providers.


Applied Ergonomics Conference
March 26-28, 2018 | Atlanta, GA

Supported by GoErgo, a community within the IISE, the Applied Ergonomics Conference presents an opportunity for healthcare, HR, safety, risk management, and ergonomics professionals to connect, share ideas, and foster collaboration. The educational program is comprised of several types of sessions – featured speakers, poster sessions, roundtables, and Master Tracks, to name a few - that feature practical solutions, making this event suitable for health and safety professionals with any level of expertise or responsibility.


Ceres Conference 2018
April 24 – 26, 2018 | Boston, MA

Ceres’s annual conference assembles 600+ industry leaders, investors, and advocates to foster collaboration and take stock of the role finance plays in the modern sustainability movement. Past years have featured valuable keynote, plenary, and breakout sessions touching on everything from to investing in women to the radical changes occurring in the food system. Environmental Leader & Energy Manager Conference
May 15 – 17, 2018 | Denver, CO

C-level executives, vice presidents, directors, and managers who deal with environmental and energy management, take note! Produced by publisher Sector Media, the Environmental Leader and Energy Manager Conference (ELEMCON) focuses on real-world case studies to facilitate discussions about the modern challenges facing large corporate sustainability management programs. Workshops and plenary sessions will help business leaders align stewardship and compliance obligations, as well as engage employees to bolster environmental programs.


Verdantix North American Summit
May 21 -23, 2018 | Houston, TX

Safety 2018
June 3-6, 2018 | San Antonio, TX

The National Ergonomics Conference and Ergo Expo (NECE) isn't just the largest and longest-running ergonomics event of its kind - it’s also the only national-level event specifically for ergonomics professionals. The program emphasizes connection across organizations and industries with sessions that offer fresh solutions for everyone – even ergo programs that are constrained by tight budgets.


NSC Congress & Expo
October 20-26, 2018 | Houston, TX

Another hallmark event, the NSC Congress and Expo is the largest annual gathering of safety professionals. Opportunities to network are plentiful, and attendees will discover innovative ways to enhance workplace safety and reduce preventable deaths through the 100+ technical sessions on offer, with tracks for young professionals, seasoned executives, and everyone in between. NAEM EHS & Sustainability Management Forum
October 24-26, 2018Louisville, KY

NAEM’s EHS Forum is the industry’s largest annual gathering for EHS and sustainability professionals. The session tracks are packed with valuable insights, making this three-day event an excellent opportunity for EHS professionals to exchange ideas and share best practices on how to integrate strategic environmental, health, and safety programs within a business operation. The specifics on the 2018 event are still to come, but if last year’s program is anything to go by, it’s sure to be one you don’t want to miss.


EHS Today’s Safety Leadership Conference

The workplace safety landscape is always changing. EHS Today’s Safety Leadership Conference is designed to help EHS professionals come to grips with the safety challenges they face. Local plant tours, networking outings, and professional development workshops ensure that attendees return home well-equipped to implement industry-leading safety practices within their organizations.
