In the meantime, we sat down with Amanda to learn more about her background, how she came to Enviance, and why she’s so passionate about our mission:

Where are you from originally?

Marquette, MI - I was born in Michigan's U.P.

What’s your academic background?

I received my B.S.E. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I focused on Human - Computer Interaction and enabling people through technology.

How did you make your way to Enviance?

I worked for the Environmental team at DTE Energy Services where part of my job was to be the companywide liaison and technical expert for the design, implementation, and rollout of Enviance. I loved working with technology - particularly the Enviance software - so much, I decided join the Enviance team!

What professional achievement are you most proud of?

Assembling what I believe is the best Product Management and Sales Engineering team in our industry.   I think the Product Team at Enviance is amazing and I feel proud and lucky to have such a great team.

Do you belong to any professional organizations?

What is your favorite part of your job at Enviance?

The PEOPLE!  I love my colleagues, my team, and our customers. I am proud of the work that we do together.

What aspect of EHS are you most passionate about and why?

Enviance customers provide goods and services that are critically important to the way we live – whether that’s the electricity we all rely on, the fuel for our cars, medicines that save lives...the list goes on and on. I value what they do and I am committed to find ways that technology can help our customers provide their goods and services in a way that ensures the safety of their employees and the people in their communities, and in a way that protects the planet.

What’s your favorite thing(s) to do outside of work?

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. I love the outdoors, hiking, concerts, bonfires, baseball games, boating, traveling, reading...and watching Michigan Football – GO BLUE!

If you could give your younger self one piece of advice (personal or professional), what would it be?

Every person you meet (no matter their age, education level, or status in life) has something they can teach you.

If you had one more hour of free time each day, how would you use it?

I would spend more time with my kids - they grow up so fast!

What’s one important skill you think every person should have?

Listening...When you stop to really hear what other people are saying, and not just waiting for your turn to speak, you can be so much more effective, valuable, and ultimately successful.
